Dallas-Fort Worth is on track for the best office leasing year in almost two decades.
Through the first half of 2016, net office leasing in North Texas has totaled almost 3.4 million square feet. If the trend continues through the end of the year, office demand in the D-FW area will be at the highest level since the 1990s.
Leasing activity has risen in each of the last six years, according to the reports by commercial property firm Cushman & Wakefield Inc.
“We all keep looking around thinking about when it is going to stop, but the fundamentals continue to be strong,” said Rick Hughes, Cushman & Wakefield executive vice president. “With all the jobs relocating here, it’s a phenomenal time in the real estate cycle – unprecedented.
