The last time I was at Davy Crockett School, Lyndon Johnson was in the White House.

Back then, I wasn’t impressed with LBJ but I thought Lady Bird was terrific — still do.

Davy Crockett School, even when I was enrolled there in the 1960s, was old and somewhat spooky. Built in 1903, the Old East Dallas building is one of Dallas’ oldest surviving public school buildings. Read about the new plans >
