New office construction data in north Texas shows seventy projects under construction that are at least 10,000 square feet totaling 10.2 million square feet. There’s another 6.5 million square feet among seventy-nine projects, that are in the planning stage.
As you can see, the majority of the growth is in the North Dallas Tollway Corridor, north and south of Hwy 121. There are actually thirty-four projects planned north of 121 along the tollway and towards I-75 (Central Expressway).
Downtown Dallas and Uptown are also seeing robust new office development activity, and much of the new apartment construction has also occurred in the urban core.
Heading over to Cowtown, most of the new office construction in Fort Worth is planned for the areas west and southwest of downtown.
Since homes are where the jobs sleep at night, it’s obvious that most folks prefer to live within short commutes of their jobs. If you’re in the real estate business in north Texas, it’s easy to see where the future is headed – at least geographically, that is.
